Prime-time classes too full?

Class sizes can vary greatly, from 5 to 45 students.  January and February always bring a flock of new yoga students, and while classes rarely fill to capacity, some students prefer to seek out smaller classes.

Finding smaller classes
If the prime-time classes are too full for you, you'll find more space at the less-popular times: Monday-Friday 7am, 9am, and 7pm.

Fitting in to large classes
Keep in mind that the fullest classes are Mon-Thu 5:30, and Sat-Sun 9:00 & 11:00.  During these classes, be prepared for the possibility of having less than 12 inches of space between your mat and your neighbors' mat.  If you're early, be kind to others and make room for those who come in after you.  If you enter a crowded class, don't be daunted -- as long as the teacher hasn't put he "Class is Full" sign on the door, please enter and walk around to look for a spot.  When classes get full enough, the instructor will ask students to use the "mat lines" on the ground
, which creates an optimum, staggered mat arrangement.  Sometimes you just need to seek out a gap between mats, and kindly ask your new neighbors if they wouldn't mind making room.

Early bird gets a spot
This time of year, it's a good idea to plan to arrive early so that you don't create a disruption trying to arrange your mat when class has already started.  Also, if you're waiting outside for a 7pm class, and you arrive before 6:45, please keep quiet as you wait outside - the students in the class inside can hear all conversations on the sidewalk.
