Natasha Korshak

Natasha has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for 15 years. She originally studied with and was trained by Priscilla Potter, Swami Mahatarananda of the Kriya yoga lineage. She was part of The Yoga Connection’s first teacher training course in Tucson and was certified in 1993. Natasha is grateful to Priscilla for an excellent foundation in classical yoga, the encouragement to teach, and the introduction to Goswami Kriyananda of the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. Kriyananda became a healing figure for Natasha’s mother who studied with him and was initiated into the Kriya lineage herself as Swami Grihananda in the last stage of her life.

Natasha has taught in a wide variety of settings and has worked with people from all over the world. She worked at the Southern Arizona Cancer Care Center for 3 years, where she helped create holistic programs that complemented conventional cancer treatment; and, she has worked at Miraval Life in Balance in Catalina for the last 12 years where she is currently the Director of Yoga, Meditation, & Mindfulness programming.

For the last 12 years Natasha has been studying yoga with Rama Jhoti Vernon, founder of the International Yoga College (IYC).

Rama was a close student of BKS Iyengar, has a deep knowledge of Vedic philosophy, and now teaches her own style of yoga which is based on the breath and the application of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Natasha received her 500 hour certification from IYC and is a senior faculty member for their advanced teaching programs. She is grateful to Rama for her gorgeous and inclusive teaching and the community of “Ramans” who carry on this powerful yoga vision in their own practices and lives.

In addition to her yoga training, Natasha is a graduate of the Interfaith Theological Seminary and is an ordained Interfaith Contemplative Minister. She has also done professional training at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society and periodically facilitates the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program.
