Inversions w/Leah Stauber
March 29 & April 5
Two Saturdays, 3-5pm
Inversions reinvigorate the immune and nervous systems and help us to renew our perspective on the world and our place in it. These fun and energizing workshops will break down four core inversions – headstand, shoulderstand, handstand, and forearm stand – into easily accessible stages. Whether you're working towards your first headstand or learning to balance in handstand, these workshops will use specific alignment tips to help you harness your own strengths and relate compassionately to your own fears.
After a deeply opening warm-up sequence, we will use props, partners, and a sense of humor to explore moving into, and perhaps coming towards balance in, inversions. These workshops additionally will help students to understand why we use certain sequences to come into inversions, and will help students to craft a home practice that safely and joyfully includes inversions – two of which B.K.S. Iyengar has called the “king and queen” of asana.
