Class Descriptions
Beginning Yoga
This yoga class is an excellent choice for new students, and also appeals to continuing students who prefer a slow and steady pace. Students are supported in connecting to their body and breath through a mindful practice of foundational poses. Beginning Yoga is an informative and nourishing class, where teachers will take time to break down particular poses as needed.
Gentle & Restorative
This class brings harmony to body and mind with simple, mindful movements to lubricate the joints and muscles, and restorative yoga to facilitate deep relaxation. Restorative yoga focuses on the use of restful postures supported by props - bolsters, blankets, blocks, etc. - to experience relaxation in a wakeful state. This kind of rest is different than sleep, and it supports the body’s ability to heal and replenish its energy stores.
Gentle Yoga
An easy-paced class with an emphasis on gentle movement, breathing and relaxation. This class is best for for students who seek a quiet, relaxing yoga practice with an emphasis on mindfulness. Also excellent for those who are older, inflexible, or recovering from illness or injury.
Hatha Flow
This is our classic mixed-level yoga class, which blends a strengthening, flowing sequence with relaxing movement. Variations are offered for different levels of student ability and experience. Appropriate for experienced beginners and continuing students.
Mama & Baby Yoga
Mama-baby yoga is a sweet, gentle, welcoming and playful environment for new mamas and their babies. While this class is designed for pre-crawling babies and their moms, older (pre-toddler) babies are welcome. We strongly support both breast-feeding and bottle-feeding during class, and we encourage even moms of "fussy" babies to come. Read more
Mindfulness Yoga
Mindfulness Yoga is a contemplative, all-levels class that Integrates yoga asana practice with Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness practice.
Mixed-Level Vinyasa
A flowing style of yoga linking movement with conscious breath. Each class is a unique sequence of poses designed to uplift and inspire. Some of the more challenging poses are explored, with variations for beginning students. All levels are welcome. Due to the faster pace of this class, some yoga experience is recommended.
Prenatal Yoga
A yoga class designed for mothers-to-be to have a sacred space to honor and strengthen their bodies, relax their mind, connect with other women in a sharing community, and become aquainted with a practice specifically designed for the journey and celebration of pregnancy.
Rise & Shine Yoga
A mixed-level flow class designed to wake you up and start your day in a beautiful way! Beginners are welcome, however first-timers should start with a Basic Yoga or Gentle Yoga class.
Sun Celebrations
This all-levels vinyasa-inspired class is designed to invigorate the body, open the heart and inspire the mind at the start of the day.
Sunday Sangha
Sunday Sangha is the weekly practice of Empty Mountain Sangha, an open community of people interested in studying, practicing and cultivating mindfulness throughout their daily lives. Vinyasa
A vigorous, flowing, and challenging yoga class, best suited for experienced students. These playful and uplifting classes are designed to revitalize and inspire! Come ready to explore body, breath and spirit.
Yin & Gentle Flow
A rejuvenating and mindful yoga class that blends gentle, nourishing movement with long, slow yin postures. Appropriate for students of all levels. Also excellent for those who are less flexible or who are recovering from illness or injury.
Yin & Hatha Flow
This mixed-level class blends the long, slow postures of Yin Yoga with a strengthening and energizing flow. Variations are offered for different levels of student ability and experience. Appropriate for experienced beginners and continuing students.
Yin & Vinyasa
This mixed-level class blends the long, slow postures of Yin Yoga with a strengthening and energetic Vinyasa Flow practice. Appropriate for experienced students.
Yin Yoga
A rejuvenating and mindful yoga class in which passive postures are held for three to five minutes at a time. The stillness takes practitioners deep into the postures, beyond the muscles and into the fascia, or connective tissue. Yin Yoga is deeply healing to the joints and balancing for the energy body and meridian system. Appropriate for students of all levels.
