Downward-facing dog: just another yoga pose for some, the riddle of the sphinx to others. Whatever your skill level, Tucson Yoga has a class to match, taught by one of their professional instructors. Located just a hop, skip and a jump from downtown, this studio was founded upon the principle of making yoga affordable and accessible to the entire Tucson community. And with classes priced at just $6, that mission is being fulfilled. Feel like getting your yoga on more than twice a week? It's quite simple, really: With a mission statement that says "to help make yoga affordable and accessible to everyone in our community," Tucson Yoga is doing exactly what it set out to do, with its 20 classes a week at only $6 per class. Those prices may be further reduced with monthly memberships and bulk passes. In fact, if there is any drawback, it's that some classes are too popular. With this no-frills studio across the street from the plasma center (insert ironic pause here), it's all about the practice. Skillful teachers offer classes at a variety of levels, and there are often low-cost workshops available on the weekends. In the heart of Armory Park, Tucson Yoga is Om sweet Om.

You can't put a price on one's yoga practice. Or can you? It's a classic conflict for yogis and yoginis. We love our practice but wince at the idea of paying an amount that's twice our cell-phone bills for a spot on the floor at a studio. Sky-rocketing class prices have us hiding out in cluttered living rooms, trying to perform an unguided practice without a teacher to watch over us. Luckily, the folks at Tucson Yoga recognize this and have made it their mission to make classes affordable and accessible for everyone who wants to practice. There are 20 classes per week of all levels to choose from, all at the whopping price of $5 per class. It's a beautiful philosophy. Namaste.

With a focus on affordable classes, Tucson Yoga takes the honor of best yoga studio in town for the second year in a row. The downtown studio, which opened in 2003, focuses on promoting health and well-being through yoga to all people. Class prices range from $5 for a drop-in to $240 for a six-month pass. There's even a "free pass" box, where passes are donated by generous yoga-doers, in case you're ever struggling to find an extra $5. Classes are offered seven days a week, and there is pretty much something for everyone. Their Web site even marks the specific classes that are designated for yoga newbies.
