Arm balances challenge us to explore the balance between effort and ease; between seeking and surrender. As we learn to trust our bodies to support ourselves in new ways, we become inspired to challenge our perspectives on the world and our individual capabilities and limitations within it.
This joyful and energetic workshop will explore the stages – energetic and physical – of moving toward arm balancing. After a deeply opening warm-up sequence, we will use props, partners, and a sense of humor to explore taking flight in three arm-balancing series. Whether you’re lifting off for the first time or beginning to move from one arm balance to another without touching down, these workshops will offer specific alignment tips to help you harness your own strengths and relate compassionately to your own fears.
Students should come prepared to surprise themselves, and to depart feeling confident about approaching arm balances in any level practice!
Level
Moderate yoga experience and healthy wrists (no recent injuries) required. Please email Leah with any questions at info@tucsonyoga.com.
