Tucson Yoga Studio Manager * now accepting applications
This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) to assist in managing the day-to-day administration and operations of Tucson Yoga. Employment will begin in May, and the new manager work closely with the current manager throughout the month.

Description
The Tucson Yoga Manager handles the administrative back-end of the studio's operations, manages the physical space, and acts as an assistant to the studio owner.
Responsibilities
Studio Manager tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
> Answer email and phone messages; keep clear communication flowing between students, staff, and management; maintain outgoing phone message system
> Manage database of class attendance and income
> Manage membership database and payments
> Manage workshop registration payments and lists
> Assist the studio owner with various ongoing needs and special projects*
> Calculate and distribute paychecks; process credit card purchases and manage merchant account; bookkeeping
> Manage studio calendar and coordinate substitute needs*
> Coordinate volunteers & service providers; be available for utility service calls and other situations requiring access to the interior of the building*
> Clean the studio and mats weekly
> Manage needs of the physical space; take inventory of studio administrative supplies and consumables, purchase and restock as needed; coordinate utility work and other services; identify and address problems
> Attend to critical studio issues that arise before, during, or after yoga classes*
> Coordinate workshops, attend to last-minute workshop duties and communications, and staff the studio during some workshops/events*
> Depending on skills, some additional responsibilities of the Studio Manager may include: website management, event coordination*, graphic design, building maintenance*, substituting for classes*, and/or bookkeeping & tax preparation
* Tasks that require some time flexibility and on-call availability.
Scheduling
This is a part-time position, 15-20 hours per week, partly on-call. Approximately 12 hours are afternoon office hours at the yoga studio, evenly spread throughout the week, for instance: Mon-Wed-Fri 12-4pm or Tues-Thu-Sat 1-5pm. Additional hours are split between on-call management, special-event duties, special projects, and errands.
Required Skills:
* Computer Skills: Applicants should be quite comfortable with computer usage, including experience with data entry, internet usage, and program navigation. In addition, applicants must type well and be able to quickly learn and navigate through both new and familiar computer programs.
* Communication: The studio manager handles much of the communications between students, teachers, and management. Therefore applicants should have good communication skills, plus some yoga experience.
* Multi-tasking and Organization: The studio manager often works unsupervised, and therefore should have good organization and time-management skills, plus be detail-oriented. Experience in jobs with self-management is a plus.
Bonus Skills: (not required but helpful)
* Event skills: Experience with the management and coordination of special events
* Handy skills: for studio maintenance, repair, and improvement.
* Computer design experience: Ability to assist in professional design of advertisements and publications. Emphasis on Adobe products.
* Specific computer skills: Adobe design software skills, database management, and accounting experience.
* Management: Experience in small business management, administrative assistance, and/or staff management.
Compensation
Pay is $10-$12 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits include free Tucson Yoga membership and free/discounted registration for workshops and courses.
Commitment
Because of the amount of training this position requires, we ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year, preferably longer or indefinite. In addition, applicants should understand our need for a stable manager throughout the summers, since backup staff is not available during summers. Therefore, summer vacation time is limited to a cumulative maximum of 3 weeks between June 1 and Sept 15, for no more than 10 consecutive days, with ample advance notice. Note that additional vacations at other times during the year are more easily accommodated.
